City officials are looking for public input on a proposal to create year-round routes on city streets for all-terrain and utility-terrain vehicles to travel through the city.
Approved by the Public Safety Committee last month, the Council delayed action to give the public a chance to weigh in on the proposal.
About 9,500 fliers went out with mailed and emailed bills for trash and sewage, Public Works Director Todd Janigo said. The city also set up a webpage at ci.superior.wi.us/879/ATVUTV-Route-Proposal. People can find detailed neighborhood maps of the proposed routes, a copy of the draft ordinance and information about how to contact the mayor and members of the city council to share thoughts about the proposal.
The routes utilize marked city streets to allow riders access to various parts of the city.
Recent changes in state law gave municipalities the ability to create designated routes.

"I would think that if there is going to be any feedback, it's going to be in the next week or two," Janigo said.
The Council plans to take up the ordinance again when it meets Aug. 7.
If approved, Janigo said the city is ready to move forward with necessary signage to make the routes usable by ATV and UTV users.
