Como Modifieds racing in Hibbing

Hibbing Raceway hosts the second event tonight in the eight-race Como Oil & Propane Modified Series.

Hot laps are at 6:15 p.m. Racing starts at 7 p.m. About 40 to 45 WISSOTA modifieds are expected to enter tonight's event, said Bill Engelstad, Iron Range Racing Association president.

An additional 40 to 45 Midwest modifieds will compete in separate races.

Admission is $12 for ages 13 and older. Children 12 and under are free.

Tonight's winner receives $1,000. The series winner receives $7,500, a new J-Car modified chassis and Elite Tinting and Graphics lettering.

Kelly Estey of Kelly Lake won the Como Oil Propane series opener May 28 at Proctor Speedway.

The third event in the series is July 3 at ABC Raceway in Ashland and the fourth event is Tuesday, July 24 in Superior.
