Weather forecasts calling for extreme cold and sub-zero wind chill

temperatures have forced the cancellation of Sunday's Big Jig Ice Fishing Contest. The eighth annual event was scheduled to run from 12 noon to 3 p.m. at Duluth's Pike Lake.

In accordance with contest rules, however, all 101 prizes, including a 2008 Scion XB, a 2008 Yamaha Grizzly 350 4x4, a 14-foot Lund boat with trailer and motor and $1,000 in cash, will be awarded via a raffle drawing which will be held tomorrow (Feb. 10) at 3 p.m. in Romano Gymnasium on the University of Minnesota Duluth campus. A complete list of prize winners will be posted Sunday afternoon on the UMD athletic web site: umdbulldogs.com.
