A child abuse charge against a 48-year-old man accused of striking an 8-year-old with a belt was dismissed Thursday in Douglas County Court.
Melvin Stubblefield of Superior was accused of striking the boy six times on the arms because he was mad at the 8-year-old for eating candy. Time limits were waived for the case, according to court records. The charge was dismissed based on a motion from the prosecutor, Assistant District Attorney Kelly Thimm.
