A man arrested and released during a March drug bust that netted more than eight pounds of marijuana and 53 grams of cocaine makes his initial appearance in court next week.

Investigators executed a search warrant at the North End residence on March 15, according to a Superior Police report. They were assisted by a special agent from the Wisconsin Department of Justice's Division of Criminal Investigations and a Sawyer County investigator.

The 33-year-old Superior man who lived at the residence agreed to be interviewed. He asked officers "what took so long," and said "he knew his time was coming" for selling drugs, police say in their report.

The suspect cooperated with law enforcement officers, pointing out where drugs and stashes of cash were located in the apartment. He said he had been selling marijuana for about five years and cocaine for about six months. Most recently, he told officers, he had driven to the Twin Cities area to purchase seven pounds of marijuana.

Cash totaling $11,691 was collected at the residence, including two $5,000 rolls of bills in a pair of pants and $402 located in a blue baby wipe container. Although two knives were noted in the apartment, neither was collected.
