Charges have been reduced against a Solon Springs man accused of damaging Soft Pines Tavern on Sept. 8.

According to court records, David Ducado Menton II, 24, now faces misdemeanor charges of criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct after he punched out a plate glass window at the tavern on County Road A.

He was originally charged with a felony, but the criminal complaint was amended because the cost of replacing the window was not as high as originally estimated, according to the Douglas County District Attorney's office. Felony charges are only applicable when damage exceeds $2,500.

Menton's next court appearance is Oct. 11.
