First Superior Credit Union Service Center celebrates its 32nd year of service and the first anniversary in its new office 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today. All members and friends are invited to attend.

Located in the Badger Building at 1225 Tower Ave., Suite 102, the First Superior Credit Union Service Center is the last service center in Wisconsin. Combining four credit unions serves the Douglas County Credit Union, Lake Superior Refinery Credit Union, Water Light Credit Union and Catholic Credit Union.

The service center was incorporated in March 1978 with the Douglas County, Superior State employees and Lake Superior Refinery Credit Union. Over the years, the other credit unions joined to combine service and efficiency to four area credit unions. Each credit union has a long history of service to the surrounding area, prior to joining the service center.

"The service center makes it possible for smaller credit unions to survive in the market by sharing the expenses of an office, employee salaries and supplies," said Credit Union Services Manager Lyn Larson. "The Service Center prides itself on personal service to all of its credit union members."
