This weekend's Upper Midwest Athletic Conference baseball series showdown between 14th-ranked St. Scholastica and preseason conference favorite Bethany Lutheran College will feature a Cancer Awareness Night at Wade Stadium on Friday.

The game will played in honor of the late Bethany Lutheran assistant coach Todd Mann and late CSS head coach John Baggs, both of whom passed away over the last year and a half after being diagnosed with cancer.

Both teams will wear custom jerseys to pay tribute to their former coaches. The Saints' game jerseys will go into a silent auction open to the public on both Friday and Saturday. Bidding will start at $25 and begin at the start of Friday night's game and end at the conclusion of the doubleheader on Saturday. Proceeds will go to the John Baggs Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The public is encouraged to come on out and watch two of the region's premier teams and support this great cause.

Friday night's game begins at 6 p.m. and Saturday's doubleheader starts at noon.
