82, Iron River, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, in his home. Cal was born March 6, 1925, in Superior and was a lifelong area resident.

He had served with the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of Superior Masonic Lodge 236, the Scottish Rite and the York Rite, AAD Temple of the Shrine Duluth and the Chequamegon Shrine Club.

He owned and operated Northwest Outlet in Superior and numerous business enterprises in Iron River and Poplar.

Cal is survived by his wife, Carol; two daughters, Sue (Dan) Lien of Superior and Betsy Miller Jones of Fraser, Colo.; two sons, David (Mary) Miller of Hermantown and Carl (Susan) Miller of Superior; and 12 grandchildren.

A public visitation will be held 1-2 p.m. Thursday in the Downs Funeral Home where a Masonic service will be held at 1:45 p.m. A private family service will take place later. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Bong Heritage Center, the Shrine Children's Hospital, the Salvation Army, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
