Three Wisconsin locals of the International Union of Operating Engineers -- Local 310, Local 317 and Local 950 -- are merging to form the new Local 420. The merger has been approved by the General President of the IUOE and will become effective June 1.
Current Local 317 business manager Mark Maierle serves as business manager of the new local union and Pat Kelly, current president of Local 310, serves as president.
Local 420 represents members at 20 employers in Wisconsin including Calumet Specialty Products in Superior.
Members of Local 420 perform work in power generation and transmission, refinery production, water treatment, building maintenance, equipment operation and repair, customer service, clerical and other areas.
