Bryant Elementary School newspaper reporter Tyler Bee is already on his way to becoming a sports reporter. The 10-year-old has written to several different sports players this year and received autographs. In May Bee wrote to interview Twins relief pitcher Pat Neshek and received answers to all his questions for a Bryant newspaper article:

Tyler: How old were you when you started playing baseball?

Neshek: 1 years old -- whiffle ball bat.

Tyler: Do you remember what you were doing when you got drafted by the Twins?

Neshek: I was pitching in my last high school game.

Tyler: What kinds of things do you like to do besides playing baseball?

Neshek: Collect baseball cards, Internet, play with my dogs.

Tyler: Who's your favorite team in football? The Vikings or the Packers?

Neshek: Neither, I don't watch football.

Tyler: What is it like playing for your hometown team?

Neshek: The best job in the world.

Tyler: What stadium do you like to play at and why?

Neshek: Metrodome, I went to many games as a kid and love this place.

Tyler: Do you like to play video games? If you do which is your favorite?

Neshek: NHL Hockey -- Rise of the Nations.

Tyler: How did you get your windup in pitching?

Neshek: By an injury.

Tyler: What is your favorite pitch and why?

Neshek: Slider, strikes people out.

Tyler: Who is your best friend on the team?

Neshek: I like everyone the same, lots of friends.

Tyler: What is your favorite food?

Neshek: Spaghetti.

Tyler: What was your favorite subject in school?

Neshek: Math, history.

Tyler: Have you ever been to the Duluth/Superior area?

Neshek: Yes, played at the Dukes stadium behind at the little league fields when I was 12.

Tyler: What do you do to get ready for a game that is like good luck?

Neshek: The same routine every day.

Tyler: Who was your favorite player growing up?

Neshek: Tony Gwynn, Kirby Puckett and Bob Gibson.

Tyler: What kind of advice would you give to a young kid who pitches?

Neshek: Have fun and never give up chasing a dream if you want it bad enough you will get it someday.
