Brewers to deliver food baskets to 500 families

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The Milwaukee Brewers, 1290 WMCS, Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke and representatives from Feeding America and the Hunger Task Force are distributing 500 food baskets to area families for Thanksgiving on Monday.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The Milwaukee Brewers, 1290 WMCS, Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke and representatives from Feeding America and the Hunger Task Force are distributing 500 food baskets to area families for Thanksgiving on Monday.

Some baskets will be delivered to a Milwaukee homeless shelter for men and the Brewers Community Foundation will make a $10,000 donation to the shelter.

Families are identified through letters and e-mails sent to the radio station, while local community service organizations recommend individuals in need.

Feeding America is donating food that includes dressing, potatoes, cranberry sauce, macaroni and cheese, canned yams, corn, green beans, fruit, applesauce and cake mixes.

The Hunger Task Force is donating turkeys and fresh produce.
