Brett Carl Wermter, 47, of Superior died Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at his residence in Royalton Manor.
Brett was born in Superior on March 9, 1961, the son of Doris (Roy) and Alfred C. Wermter.
He loved being outdoors and enjoyed wildlife and fishing. He liked going to the country and riding his four-wheeler. He also enjoyed playing cards, board games and dice at the Drop In Center and watching the Sci-fi Channel. Brett was a very kind hearted, gentle and helpful person.
Brett was preceded in death by his parents, Doris in 1995 and Alfred in 1990; and a brother, Ronald Wermter in 1958.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Claudia Nelson of South Range, Sharon (Ralph) Law of Superior Township, David (Diane) Wermter of South Range, Gregory (Patti) Wermter of Bennett, Rebecca (Michael) Beelby of South Range, Timothy (Lea) Wermter of South Range, and Jeffrey Wermter of Superior; and many aunts, uncle, cousins, nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 17 at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th Street and Ogden Avenue. Rev. Robert Baranow will officiate. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service. Interment will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hawthorne in the spring.
Pallbearers will be David, Gregory, Timothy, and Jeffrey Wermter, Ralph Law, Edward Javenkoski, and Michael Beelby.
