Bonnie (formerly Griffin) Bruce

Bonnie (formerly Griffin) Bruce of New Hope, Minn., passed away suddenly Wednesday, July 25, 2007, after falling and sustaining a head injury. Bonnie was 65 at the time of her passing.

Bonnie (formerly Griffin) Bruce of New Hope, Minn., passed away suddenly Wednesday, July 25, 2007, after falling and sustaining a head injury. Bonnie was 65 at the time of her passing.

Bonnie grew up in the East End of Superior with her mother Emily and five brothers and sisters. She attended East High School for three years, but then attended Cathedral High School her senior year. Following high school, Bonnie attended the University of Wisconsin-Superior where she majored in art and education. Following college, Bonnie moved to the Minneapolis area where she married and lived since 1970.

Bonnie is survived by her five brothers and sisters and two step siblings, Marvin (Yvonne) Griffin, Bloomington, Minn., Betty LaValley, Rice Lake, Carol (Ray) Peters, Duluth, David (Donna) Griffin, Duluth, and Kathy (Bill) Kadlecek, Superior. Step siblings include Pat (the late Bonar) Carlson from South Superior, and Ted (Patricia) Platz of Stillwater, Minn.

Bonnie will be sadly missed by her three children, Julie (Greg) Gerding, Robbinsdale, Minn., Ann Marie (Tony) Fosselman, Brooklyn Park, Minn., and Casey Ness of Moundsview, Minn.; by her 13 grandchildren; and her many nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Emily Griffin and Marvin Griffin; her stepmother, Helen (Scanlon) Griffin; and stepsister, Carol (Keith) Nyberg, South Range.

A private family memorial service is pending at Glen Haven Chapel in Crystal, Minn.
