The American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation (ABSF) hopes to raise $65,000 meet a challenge grant by John and Leslie Taylor and family.

The foundation still needs to raise a little more than $8,400 to meet the grant, according to the foundation's executive director Ned Zuelsdorff.

Donations may be made online at www.birkie.com or by sending a check made out to ABSF Trail Fund at PO Box 911, Hayward, WI 54843.

Donations must be received by Monday to qualify for the Birkie Challenge Grant. The ABSF is a non-profit organization, and donations are tax deductible.

Proceeds allow completion of the Birkie Classic Trail segment to the High Point food station this year and to Highway OO in 2008.
