Beulah Margaret Maki, 93, of Bennett, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at Middle River Health and Rehabilitation in Hawthorne.

Beulah was born Nov. 7, 1913, in Murry, Wis. to the late George F. and Wilhelmena F. (Kirmse) Pluntz.

Beulah married Paul R. Maki on Dec. 3, 1931, in Carlton, Minn. They moved to the Bennett area in 1937.

Beulah was the youth director of the Modern Woodman Club 2102 from 1949-1963. She was a member of the Twin Ports Baptist Church in Superior. Beulah enjoyed watching the birds, gardening and being with her family.

Among those who survive and gratefully shared her life are her son, David Maki of Bennett, one sister, Dorothy Vandeberg of Lake Nebagamon, one brother, Titus Maki of Hawthorne, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Reinald Maki in 1972, one daughter, Margaret Priem in 1992, three sisters, Vera Springsteen, Grace Alger and Gladys Thurstin.

Funeral services will be held noon Saturday at the Twin Ports Baptist Church in Superior. Pastor J. Mark Wagenschutz will officiate. Visitation will be held 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, at the church in Superior. Burial will be in the Bennett Cemetery in Bennett.
