A fire Wednesday afternoon in the Billings Park neighborhood caused about $20,000 in damage to a home, according to the Superior Fire Department.
The resident of the house at 1808 Susquehanna Ave., arrived home from work shortly after 2 p.m. to find the home fill with smoke.
Smoke was coming from several windows and vents around the house when fire crews arrived.
Firefighters made a rapid attack to extinguish the fire, located in the basement.
No one was injured but a pet Guinea pig suffered from smoke inhalation and a parakeet was found dead.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
