BASEBALL: Yellowjacket men defeat Northland, 4-2

The Yellowjackets improve to 9-26 while the Lumberjacks fall to 6-19.

Superior got on the board first on as sophomore Chad Beiswenger's two-run double in the second inning.

Northland then picked up a run in the fourth inning to close the score to 2-1.

The 'Jackets picked up a run in the seventh and the eighth inning to extend the lead to 4-1.

The Lumberjacks would score a lone run in the ninth inning, but it wasn't enough as the Yellowjackets prevailed, 4-2.

NC got on base during the game but couldn't get key hits, as it left 13 runners on base to UWS's four.

Senior Reed Coil (2-6) made a strong showing on the mound as he allowed just one run on six hits while striking out 10.

UWS wraps up the regular season with doubleheaders Friday and Saturday at UW-Whitewater.

Action both days begins at 1 p.m.
