The Luck Cardinals defeated the Northwood Evergreens 10-0 in a West Lakeland Conference baseball game Monday at Luck. However the game was much closer than the score indicated.
The Cardinals were leading the game 1-0 until the fifth inning when they scored nine runs, thanks mostly to eight Northwood errors.
After the dust settled in the inning, Northwood was trailing 10-0 against a team it had defeated 9-7 earlier in the season.
Gus Morley was 2-for-3 with a double for the Evergreens, who fall to 4-4 in the WLC and 7-8 overall.
Also getting hits for NHS were Reese Stariha, Derek Denninger and Zach Haynes.

T.J. Asp suffered the loss for Northwood, allowing five hits and striking out seven over four innings.
Luck moves into second place in the WLC with a 5-4 record.
Northwood is at Cameron Thursday and host Prairie Farm Friday. Both games begin at 5 p.m. Cameron is currently in first place in the WLC with a 7-1 record.
