A 3-month-old girl from Lake Nebagamon died Thursday at Barnyard Babies Child Care Center, according to Sgt. Jerry Moe of the Douglas County Sheriff's Department.
The baby was laid down for a nap at 4:30 p.m., but at 5:30 she was found unresponsive when her grandmother arrived to pick her up from the facility on U.S. Highway 2 near Poplar.
First responders arrived at the scene soon after 5:30 and tried to resuscitate the baby, said Moe.
"No foul play is suspected, but we will do an autopsy as procedure," Moe said.
