An Ashland man is facing federal drug charges connected to two incidents in last fall.

Christopher D. Kabasa, 23, has been charged in federal court with possessing 50 grams or more of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute on Oct. 2 and possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute on Nov. 23.

The grand jury indictments against Kabasa were announced Wednesday by Acting U.S. Attorney Jeffrey Anderson with the Western District of Wisconsin.

If convicted, Kabasa faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 40 years in federal prison for the count involving 50 grams or more of methamphetamine and a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment on the second charge.
