Parent Child Tournament

Jim and Steve Barshdorf won the A Division of the Parent Child Tournament at the Nemadji Golf Course over the weekend with a 64. Mark and Steve Sitek and Tim and Neil Sauter tied for second with 66s.

John and Brian Wallin won the B Division with a 77, followed by Ron and Mitchel Carlson, 78; and Mike and Scott Archambeau, 80.

Brian and Alek Wallin won the C Division with a 78, Bob Crofts and Brian Kent were second at 80 and Phil and Denis Angell were third with an 89.

Thursday Night Ladies

Jean Stenberg was the event winner for the Nemadji Thursday Night Ladies League with the closest shot to the pin on No. 9.

Low scores for the week were: Julie Hines, 41; Marie Swenson, 42; and Amy Reder, 43.

This week's event will be a scramble team event with a shotgun start at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Women's Open

Black Bear Golf and Tennis in Minong hosted the Northern Wisconsin Women's Open June 13 and 14, crowing champions in two divisions, Open (under 50) and Champions (50 and over).

Kelsie Passolt, Hayward, and Kate Johnson, Sleepy Hollow, Ill., tied with a total of 158 after 36 holes on the Par 72 layout.

Passolt was crowned winner of the Open Division and Johnson won first place in the Champions Division.

Amy Patenaude of Duluth took second in the Open Division with 164 and Pat Kelly of Superior placed third at 175.

Julie Hines of Superior placed second in the Champions Division at 182. Penny Schroeder of Minong placed third with 189 and Superior's Kelly Reed placed fourth with a 191 to round out the Champions Division.
