Another round of accumulating snow is expected across the Northland from today into Tuesday, in the wake of a storm that dropped more than a foot of snow on parts of the region on Sunday.

The new storm system is expected to produce a widespread snowfall of 3 to 6 inches across the region, the National Weather Service reported. Higher snowfall totals are possible along the South Shore of Lake Superior. Winter weather advisories are in effect for the entire region.
The snow will begin across Northwestern Wisconsin this morning, and move into Northeastern Minnesota this afternoon and evening. The heaviest snowfall is expected from this evening into Tuesday morning, the Weather Service reported - potentially causing a difficult commute to work and school on Tuesday.
There may also be some freezing drizzle mixed in with the snow, particularly across Northwestern Wisconsin. All of the precipitation is expected to end from southwest to northeast across the region on Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Winter weather advisory in effect from 9 a.m. Monday to 6 p.m. Tuesday. Snow, with some light freezing drizzle possible as well. Snowfall of 3 to 5 inches expected, with locally higher amounts possible.
Hibbing, Virginia, Ely, Grand Marais, Grand Rapids, International Falls
Winter weather advisory in effect from 6 p.m. Monday to 6 p.m. Tuesday. Snowfall of 3 to 5 inches expected.
Ashland, Hayward, Hurley
Winter weather advisory in effect from 9 a.m. Monday to 6 p.m. Tuesday. Snow, mixed with freezing drizzle at times. Snowfall of 3 to 5 inches expected, with locally higher amounts possible.
