A variety of valuable services were made available by the Friends of the Superior Public Library over the past 10 years.

The Friends group is celebrating its 10th anniversary by hosting a reception, "Love Your Library," in the lounge area of the library 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Feb. 12. There will be live music, refreshments and door prizes.

The reception is open to everyone. A demonstration of the new online resources, BookNews and online book clubs, which are the latest contributions by the Friends, will also be available.

The group's goals are to support the library programming and provide additional funding for library materials. Past and ongoing projects include book sales, antique appraisal and establishment of the art print lending collection, as well as the Humanities book discussions.

The Friends also sponsored the Carl Gawboy historical murals, which are an integral part of the library facility. These murals depict the history of Superior and Douglas County.
