Douglas County Highway Department is closing the intersection of county highways C and E for a culvert replacement starting Monday. The closure, between Anderson and Bayfield roads in the town of Amnicon, is expected to start at 8 a.m. Monday and continue until 5 p.m. Aug. 6. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes. Four county government meetings are planned for next week:
• The Land and Development Committee meets at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Room 207C of the Douglas County Courthouse, 1313 Belknap St., Superior. The City of Superior is requesting an easement from the committee for an Osaugie Trail extension that would connect Bear Creek Park to Wisconsin Point Road.
• The Transportation and Infrastructure Committee meets at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Highway Department, 7417 S. County Road E, Hawthorne.
• The Administration Committee meets at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Room 207C of the courthouse.
