83, Solon Springs, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, following a two-vehicle accident.
Albert was born March 16, 1924, to the late George and Lotty Tielke in Rock River, Ill. Albert married Geraldine Hogan Aug. 29, 1947, in Rockford, Ill. They were married 53 years. He married Virginia Cozzi June 20, 2006, in Superior. They enjoyed one year, three months and three days together.
Pete served his country in the U.S. Army in the medical corps and was decorated twice.
Pete was employed for the town of Gordon for 20 years. He owned and operated Halderson Resort in Gordon for 20 years. He then retired and moved to Solon Springs, and continued to work part time for Solon Springs Concrete. Pete was a member of the Solon Springs Golden Age Civic Club, drove for the Elderly Program, and the American Legion.
Among those who survive and gratefully shared his life are his wife, Virginia of Solon Springs; one daughter, Sandy (Harlan) Wenger and grandson, Derrick Hankins of Mt. Home, Ark.; two stepsons, Tom and Jerry Berry of Beloit; three granddaughters, Denise (Trent) Waggoner and Dianna (Duane) Myers, Minong, and Debbie (Bud) Axtell of Wrenshall, Minn.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Lulu Domino of Rockford, Ill.; and his first wife, Geraldine.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Brown Funeral Home in Solon Springs. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Pastor Dennis Bergeson will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Solon Springs.
