Agnes H. Hard, 102, a longtime Superior resident, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, in St. Francis in the Park Health and Rehabilitation.

She was born March 21, 1904, to John and Mary (Tobin) Milefchik in Pocahontas, Iowa. She graduated from nursing school in Sioux City, Iowa in 1928, and completed her post graduate work in Chicago at Cook County Hospital.

Agnes was one of the oldest living members of St. Francis Catholic Church in Superior. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, and numerous civic organizations. She had married Elmer Hard on April 25, 1936.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Elmer, son, Gordon, brothers, Joseph and George, and sisters, Rose Weishaar, Catherine Thoma and Helen Strande.

She is survived by a son, Wayne (Joyce) Hard of Plymouth, Minn.; daughter-in-law, Thora Hard of Hammond, Wis.; niece, Sara (Jim) Cochrane, also of Hammond; two great-grandchildren, Kassandra and Jamie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church from 12:30 p.m. until the 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial. Burial will be Tuesday in Calvary Cemetery in Pocahontas, Iowa.
