The Northern Lights Foundation received a $2,500 holiday donation from Greenfield Communications, on behalf of the Duluth public relations and advertising firm's clients.
"At a time when many people are struggling, it didn't seem like enough to express appreciation to our clients with traditional holiday gifts," said Steve Greenfield, owner of Greenfield Communications. "So this year, rather than giving a gift to them, we decided to give one from them, in the form of assistance to the Northern Lights Foundation."
Founded two years ago by Duluth dentist Ken Larson, the Northern Lights Foundation helps kids with life-threatening or debilitating conditions, by easing the financial burden many of their families face.
"We appreciate the generosity of Greenfield Communications to help keep some financially challenged families from worrying about expenses, so they can instead concentrate on their ill children," said Dr. Larson.
The Greenfield Communications clients on behalf of which the $2,500 donation was made include the Duluth Airport Authority, Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce, Duluth Entertainment Convention Center, Energy Systems Company of Omaha, Greysolon Ballroom by Black Woods, Fraser Shipyards, Johnson Controls, Minnesota Forest Industries, National Bank of Commerce, Nokomis Restaurant & Bar, Northern Engineering Company, Points North, Reuben Johnson & Son, Sustainable Forestry Initiative, thriveOn Creative, the University of Minnesota, Vote Yes for Kids, and ZMC Hotels.
