The Blatnik Bridge was closed to traffic from approximately 6:45 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning following a two-car crash.

The crash involved two SUVs with one occupant in each car. No injuries were reported, said Superior Police Department officer Brad Jago.

Both vehicles were traveling in the Duluth-bound lane, though Jago said it's not clear what caused the crash, as a variety of variables could have factored in.

"It was a little slippery up on the bridge so MnDOT (Minnesota Department of Transportation) came up there and spread sand or salt there," Jago said.

Jago asked commuters to remember to take it slow and leave extra time on their drive into work.

"Especially in temperatures that are this cold," he said. "The road may not appear to be slippery, but it still could be."
