Two people received minor injuries when a utility truck overturned on a bridge in the town of Barnes on Tuesday, Sept. 10. The incident was reported to the Bayfield County Sheriff’s Office at about 3 p.m.

A Harvey Tree Service utility truck was traveling north on Outlet Bay Road when the truck’s boom extended into the air by mistake, according to a release from Chief Deputy Dan Clark. The boom struck a power line, causing the vehicle to overturn on a bridge.

The driver and passenger were able to get out of the vehicle with minor injuries. They declined emergency transport.

Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor, according to the sheriff’s office. The incident remained under investigation Wednesday.
