Government and Civic experience or organizations: 14 years on the county board; Leadership Superior-Douglas County developed pride in area/city; Superior Days as a volunteer with Extension; literacy council; adult literacy tutoring; and church volunteer.
Why are you running for County Board? "I really enjoy it. I kind of deferred my community service while I was taking care of my family, so this is kind of the way of paying my rent (in the community). I get to work in things I have knowledge in — extension, recycling, land conversation … the library board and serve the people in my community. Not all the people have time to do this. They’re working full-time, and I just feel like I have the time, the educational background, and I enjoy it."
