Half of the people who stopped by 320 North apartment complex tour Thursday, May 2, didn't even take the tour. Instead, they headed upstairs to watch the apartments they plan to lease take shape.
"It's really exciting to see the progress week to week," said Kaiti Rigstad, a University of Wisconsin-Superior student.
She and her boyfriend will be renting a one-bedroom apartment on the third floor facing west toward Superior Bay. Rigstad has been attending the tours since they started in March. She's been watching progress on the fifth floor, which is furthest along, but on Thursday, Rigstad was able to see the apartment she'll call home.
"It has walls," she said. "This is the first time I've seen it."
Barb Russenberger walked through the apartment she and her husband will be renting on the fifth floor. Russenberger said they are downsizing and were sold by the view.
"Our house sold within days, so we're renting now," she said.
For some, it was a first look. Maggie Smith was there to see the apartment her friend will be leasing. She said it looked very nice and comfortable. Chris Dubord of Michigan, who works for the railroad, was apartment hunting.
"It's nice," Dubord said of the new construction.
The 320 North Building on F Street is the third new apartment complex P&R Properties has built in Superior. The 89-unit building has one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. Co-owner Ryan Nelson said they expect early move-in to take place in July, with a grand opening planned for August. He said about 30 percent of the building's apartments have been pre-leased.
P&R Properties offers tours of the new construction every other Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
