Local issues delivered in Madison

Douglas County is accepting applications from interested Douglas County residents to serve a two-year term as citizen members on the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. For more information or to submit an application, contact Council Chairman Aaron Lenmark at (715) 919-3076; or email letter of interest and resume to aaron.lenmark@wisconsin.gov.

The 33rd annual Superior Days was a success earlier this week. The rough weather kept some from attending, but we still had a good group down in Madison lobbying for our area. Our presence was well received by the staff, and we are hopeful there will be positive movement regarding the issues we brought up in the near future. For more information, visit superiordays.com.

Four County government meetings are scheduled for next week, and all are welcome to attend, as always.

The Forest, Parks and Recreation Committee meets at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Forestry Headquarters, 9182 E. Hughes Ave., Solon Springs.

Also on Monday, the Nonprofit Funding Policy Work Group meets at 3 p.m. in Room 207C of the Douglas County Courthouse, 1313 Belknap St., Superior.

Land and Development meets at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Room 207C of the courthouse.

Finally, the Administration Committee meets at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Room 207C.
