One dead following Brule ATV crash
A Minnesota woman is dead following a weekend ATV crash in Brule.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Wendy Davis, 40, of Brainerd.
The crash was reported at 7:17 p.m. Friday. The initial investigation revealed that Davis had been operating an ATV east on Old Highway 2 in Brule. She failed to negotiate a curve and left the road, striking a utility pole.
Davis was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office. She was not wearing a helmet.
The incident remains under investigation by the sheriff's office and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
