Two tugboats arrived in Duluth on Tuesday to replace two of Heritage Marine's current tugboats, the Edward H. and Nels J.

The new tugboats — the Taurus (to be renamed the Nels J.) and the Edward H. (formerly the Fort Point) — traveled to Duluth from Belfast, Maine, via the St. Lawrence Seaway, said Heritage Marine owner Mike Ojard. The tugs will have some cleanup work done to them and then be in use in about a month.

"What we're trying to do is upgrade the fleet, get a little more modern boats, more highly maneuverable and certainly more horsepower," Ojard said.
