Superior Police are seeking information on two men suspected in a string of armed convenience store robberies, including two in Superior this week. The most recent incident took place Wednesday night at Presidents One Stop convenience store, 3802 E. Second St. Two unidentified masked suspects entered the store at about 11:38 p.m. and demanded money from the clerk. Both suspects were armed with handguns.

A similar armed robbery took place Monday night at the Spur station located at 615 Belknap St. in Superior. Two male suspects with faces covered entered the store at about 5:50 p.m. Monday and demanded money. Both were, again, armed with handguns.

The two robberies are similar to other recent Twin Ports convenience store robberies. The Hammond Spur at 502 Hammond Ave. in Superior was robbed in the early morning hours of Sept. 6. Additionally, the Holiday gas station at 3931 W. First St. in Duluth and the BP gas station on Haines Road in Hermantown have recently been victims of similar robberies. The Holiday gas station was robbed on Aug. 10 and the Hermantown BP was robbed twice - Sept. 14 and again Sunday. In these robberies two male suspects entered the store and demanded money. At least one of the robbers was armed with a handgun in each of these incidents.

It is believed all these incidents are related due to the similarities observed in the photos from each incident. The suspects have been described as being between 5 foot 10 inches and 6 foot 3 inches tall with heavy set builds.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of these persons is encouraged to contact the Superior Police Department at (715)395-7465, the Tip Line at (715)395-7468, or 911. They can also be reached on Facebook, or by anonymous web tip through the department website, www.ci.superior.wi.us/, or texting the keyword “spdtip” and your tip to 847411.
