About 90 different units walked along the Superior parade route Monday sharing candy and patriotism. The competition was tough, but judges whittled it down, handing out 15 trophies to the outstanding entries in the 2016 Fourth of July parade.

Best float: First place, Life Care Center; second place, Superior Water, Light & Power.

Marching band: First place, Spirit Valley Drum & Bugle; second place, Superior High School.

Best vehicle: First place, Halvor Lines Military Truck; second place, Jeff Foster.

Equestrian: First place, Great Northern Rodeo; second place, Credence Farms.

Best performing: First place, Rugby; second place, Century Insurance.

Best music: First place, Sterling Silver; second place, Dream Dance Academy.

Best walking group: First place, U.S. Post Office; second place, Laurel and Hardy.

Committee’s choice: Kivi Trucking.
