Jazz lovers have several opportunities next month to get their fill of the genre when the Big Time Jazz Orchestra offers two spring performances.
From 8-9 p.m. May 6, the Big Time Jazz Orchestra performs at the West Duluth Jazz Festival at Mr. D's Bar & Grill. The festival runs from 2-11 p.m. and features a variety of jazz groups. There is a cover charge for the day's events.
On May 10, the orchestra teams up with the University of Wisconsin-Superior Jazz Ensemble to raise funds for the UWS jazz scholarship. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at the UWS' Rothwell Student Center. The cost ranges from $5 to $8.
Additionally, band members play two other events as the Randy Lee Jazz Orchestra, starting with a benefit concert May 19 for the Northland Youth Music Program's summer music camps at the Richard I. Bong World War II Heritage Center in Superior.
Snacks and swing dancing available.
Another performance is scheduled for 7-8:30 p.m. June 13 in Billings Park. The event is free.
