A partnership between the Lew Martin Senior Center and HearingLife in Duluth means seniors in Superior don’t have to travel as far to get their hearing checked.

Once a month, HearingLife makes the trek to the Lew Martin Senior Center, 1527 Tower Ave., to screen people for hearing loss.

“It’s been … a year since our practice was relocated out of Superior,” said Ginny Freeman, patient care coordinator for HearingLife, formerly known as Avada.

“We are thrilled to connect HearingLife with our center to offer Superior and Douglas County residents better accessibility to their doctor,” said Jenny Van Sick, manager of the Lew Martin Senior Center. “Getting up the hill can be a real challenge for a variety of reasons. This way, Dr. Neve’s patients can visit the center every fourth Friday of the month between 1 and 4 p.m.”

Services include hearing tests, checkups, cleaning, supplies and answers to questions.

The next screening is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 31, and will resume the fourth Friday schedule in February.
