Lake Superior Writers is holding an open genre writing contest for members on the theme "Good Times." Submissions will be accepted in the genres of poetry (up to three poems), short-short fiction (up to 500 words) and creative non-fiction (up to 1,500 words). Submissions must be postmarked by march 30. The top entry or author in each genre will receive $150 plus a $50 gift card. Only members can enter the contest. To become a member, authors can mail in a membership fee of $35 with their contest entry.

This year, the group will also accept entries on the theme "Good Times" from younger writers in two age categories, 6-8 and 9-12. Short-short fiction and up to three poems will be considered. $15 will be awarded to the top entry in each age group plus a $5 gift card for each. Any young writer may submit work in two genres. Their parents do not need to be members of Lake Superior Writers.
