Happy New Year from Superior Public Library!
This year we resolve to improve our space so we can serve you better. We're making some much-needed updates during the first half of 2018, and we hope you'll bear with us during the construction project. Improvements coming in 2018 include a new entrance, new carpet and furniture, additional public meeting rooms, an expanded area for children and teens and much more. We're doing our best to keep services running smoothly and we appreciate your patience as we make these necessary updates. We're closed for carpet removal and will reopen at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Kids are invited to put on their thinking caps and think creatively at "Wind Tunnel," a free program with Northern Expressions Arts Collective at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 13. Build a variety of objects and do experiments to determine how much or how little weight is needed to make them fly. Can you be the first one to make your object float? Come to this free program and find out.
Winter is the best time to curl up with a good book. Kids and teens are invited to sign up for our Winter Reading Program and earn prizes for reading during the chilly winter months. Pick up a reading log in the Children's Room to participate.
It can be hard for kids (and parents) to be cooped up indoors during the long winter months, but the library has great programs for kids that they will enjoy year-round. Join us every Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Children's Room Storyboat for LEGO Club and build a masterpiece out of the library's huge LEGO collection. Our weekly Tuesday storytime resumes at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, so make sure to join us for stories, crafts and fun all winter long.
