LOS ANGELES - Guitarist Joe Perry was said to be in stable condition after collapsing on stage Sunday night during a performance at Coney Island's Ford Amphitheater.

The Aerosmith co-founder was performing with the Hollywood Vampires outfit that also includes actor Johnny Depp and rock veteran Alice Cooper when he stumbled off stage and toppled over, according to CBS News.

Perry, 65, was eventually taken to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital where he is now "stable and resting" according to a Twitter message from the Hollywood Vampire's official account. There was speculation that Perry had suffered a cardiac arrest.

Hollywood Vampires are in the midst of a U.S. tour and were scheduled to appear tonight on CBS' "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert." Given Perry's condition, it's likely that appearance and upcoming tour dates in Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin may be postponed.
