The deadline has been extended to July 1 for art vendors to apply for the Namekagon Art and Music Festival to be held in Seeley on July 9.
Festival organizers are interested in all fine art and crafts. The current list of art includes paintings, jewelry, wood carving, pottery, and weavings but we know there is so much more created in our area so consider being a part of this very fun festival.
The festival draws a large crowd of families and art lovers to the festival grounds behind the Mooselips Java Joint with music, food, Kid's Art Tent, children's authors, the Science Guy Al Stawicki, Poetry Jam, clowns, and again this year, a 5k and 10k run. The music lineup for the day will be Jason Rabuck, Wild Encounter, Yazmin, and the Namekagon String Band.
The 5K and 10K trail runs bring lots of participants to the Festival. The runs will begin at 9 a.m., and you can learn more about this at the website www.namekagonartfestrun.com. The art and music portion of the festival starts at 10 a.m. and goes until 5 p.m.
For vendor information and an application form, go to the CHARAC website and look under "Events" at www.cablehaywardarts,org. The cost for the day is $60 for nonmembers or $50 for members of the Cable Hayward Area Arts Council.
