Cross-country: Tigers capture 12th straight HON crown

The Northwestern boys cross country team captured its 12th straight Heart O’ North Conference title Tuesday, Oct. 13, in Spooner.

Emmett Johnson led the way with a second-place finish followed by Bennett Nelson (fifth), Ian Kalin (ninth), Jacob Kephart (10th) and Ryan Wick (17th).

The Northwestern girls finished fifth. Shayna Wick was the team's top finisher (seventh), followed by Autumn Askim (11th), Alayna Pederson (17th), Lyvia Carlson (26th) and Kendal Garner (37th).

The Tigers head to Amery on Tuesday for their sub-sectional.
