The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's is a united movement to reclaim the future for millions.

Walk to End Alzheimer's takes place Sept. 15 at the Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center, Superior.

More than 100 participants are expected at this year's event to raise awareness and money to fight memory-stealing disease.

Participants walk 1½ to two miles on the Osaugie Trail starting at the Bong Center. The Alzheimer's Association plans to have resources available for all to learn more about Alzheimer's disease, advocacy opportunities, clinical trial enrollment, and support programs and services. Each walker will also join in a meaningful tribute ceremony to honor those affected by the disease.

The local walk chairwoman, Colleen Morgan from the Lighthouse of Superior Assisted Living and Memory Care, invites Douglas County residents to join the effort.
