Volunteers are still needed to help pack up to 100,000 meals for starving children, in an event on Saturday at The College of St. Scholastica.

The initiative is being led by St. Scholastica student Chris Belich, in cooperation with Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), a Twin-Cities based non-profit organization. FMSC will set up a mobile pack unit for one day in the Burns Wellness Commons on campus. Volunteers will be packing meals to feed thousands of children around the world who suffer from starvation and malnutrition.

There are four two-hour packing sessions available for volunteers -- 9 to 11 a.m., 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., 2 to 4 p.m. and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The greatest need is in the final shift, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Volunteers will pack meals consisting of chicken flavoring, rice and dehydrated vegetables.
