Superior car show converted to car cruise

The annual event raises funds for Douglas County's Soldiers and Sailors Relief Fund and MACV.

The Twin Ports Mustang & Ford Club is teaming up with Benna Ford for a car cruise in place of its annual joint car show.

The Power on Tower Car Cruise will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20. It is open to all makes and models; entry fee is $10. Proceeds will be split between the Douglas County Soldiers and Sailors Relief Fund and Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans to provide aid for veterans and military families in need.

Participants will line up on Main Street on Connor’s Point in Superior, then travel to the Benna Ford Roush parking lot at 3022 Tower Ave. Entry donations will be taken in the lot; participants are asked to social distance and wear a mask.

The vehicles will cruise down Tower Avenue to North 58th Street, go past Nemadji Golf Course and turn onto Bardon Avenue. Then they will take Stinson Avenue to East Fifth Street, and Belknap Street to Hill Avenue. The vehicles will turn onto North 21st Street, turn onto Gitchinadji Drive, continue to Belknap Street and end at the roundabout.
