Superior High School's mock trial teams took part in regional competition Feb. 9-11.
The school's first team came in second place out of 9, going 3-1 with a split decision loss to River Falls, the first place team. A split decision loss means both teams were very close. Superior had the highest performance points out of all teams. Honorable mentions went to SHS students Jenny Ostrowski, Natalie Burger and Amanda Tesarek.
The school's second team came in fifth place, going 2-2 with two split decision losses. Honorable mentions were awarded to Kylie Kruger, Musea Broberg, Laura Schlacks and Jacob Gondik, who was recognized by multiple judges.
First team members include fourth year members Kristin Eliason, Zach Sather, Burger and Annie Archambeau; third year member Tesarek; second year members Dayelle Davis, Keeley McCall and Ostrowski; and first year member Emily Kasparek
Second team members include first year members Alex Kasparek, Courtney Goble, Peter Krause, Forrest Dalbec, Schlacks, Broberg, Brittany Smith and Gondik, and second year members Kruger and Hannah Nelson.
