Senior Farmers' Market Vouchers are distributed starting at 8:30 a.m. June 12 at Senior Connections, 1805 N. 16th St., Superior. There are 192 vouchers available for distribution to those who are eligible.
To be eligible for this program, you must be a resident of Douglas County age 60 or older; if Native American you must be age 55 or older. Also to qualify, you must fall under the following income guidelines. For a household size of 1, monthly income must be at or under $1,723, household size of 2, monthly income must be at or under $2,333, household size of 3, monthly income must be at or under $2,944 and for a household size of 4, monthly income must be at or under $3,554.
Locally there are two locations in Superior for the Farmers Market vouchers to be redeemed. Barker's Island Farmers Market on Barker's Island near the SS Meteor runs 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday, and the Superior Downtown Farmers Market is located at the Superior Public Library, 1530 Tower Ave., and is open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday.
