The sounds of cars driving by on Tower Avenue were quieted by the hissing of paint leaving its can as artist Taylor Rose worked on a mural outside of Jamrock Cultural Restaurant in Superior Wednesday, June 30.
“It’s going to be a paradise on Earth, jungle theme,” Rose, a Superior resident, said of his mural.
Rose figured it would take less than 10 hours to complete the spray painted mural. He began his art career by working quickly in places he admitted he probably shouldn't have been. Then as his skills got better and he got older, he did paintings during live performances at music festivals.
Now he has murals in 47 states. Locally his work can be found at the Choo-Choo Bar & Grill, Average Joe's Pub, and Ride or Die Pizzeria. His summer is loaded with projects in the Twin Cities, Iowa, the Dakotas and the Twin Ports.
